Kids Urgent Care

After Hours Pediatric Care

Kids get sick at the worst times — after your doctor’s office has closed, on a Saturday morning, or right before a holiday weekend. After Hours by Children’s Clinic exists precisely for those moments.

Located in Fayetteville, GA, we are a walk-in pediatric urgent care clinic staffed by board-certified pediatric providers. We specialize exclusively in children — from infants to teenagers — so every member of our team is trained and experienced in treating young patients in a child-friendly environment.

Please note, we do NOT provide emergency care services. If your child has a severe, life-threatening injury or illness, please call 911 or go to the emergency room immediately.

Our Hours

Monday – Friday: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Sunday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

No appointment needed. Walk in and we will see your child as quickly as possible. We maintain minimal wait times so you’re not sitting in a waiting room for hours with a sick child.

When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

After Hours by Children’s Clinic treats non-emergency, urgent care conditions. Please call 911 or go directly to the emergency room if your child is experiencing:

Difficulty breathing or severe shortness of breath
Chest pain or rapid, irregular heartbeat
Severe allergic reaction (trouble breathing, swelling of face or throat)
Uncontrolled bleeding
Seizures or convulsions
Loss of consciousness or unresponsiveness
Severe head injury
Fever in a baby under 2 months old
Signs of serious dehydration (no wet diapers, sunken eyes, extreme lethargy)
Any life-threatening or potentially life-threatening situation

When in doubt, always call 911 first. We’re here for urgent situations that aren’t emergencies — and we’ll always tell you if we think your child needs emergency care.

How We're Different From the Emergency Room

Wait times: Minimal at After Hours. Often hours at the ER — critical cases take priority.

Cost: Significantly lower copay and out-of-pocket costs at After Hours. ER visits are substantially more expensive.

Environment: Child-friendly, calm, and pediatric-focused at After Hours. High-stress at the ER, with adult patients also present.

Providers: Board-certified pediatric providers at After Hours. General emergency medicine at the ER — not always pediatric-trained.

Follow-up: We notify your primary pediatrician after every visit. The ER may or may not coordinate with your pediatrician.

Connected to Your Primary Care

After Hours by Children’s Clinic does not replace your child’s primary pediatrician — we extend their care.

After every visit, we send a summary to your child’s primary pediatrician so they have a complete picture of the care your child received. This continuity of care is one of our most important commitments.

Are you already a patient at Children’s Clinic in Newnan? We’re connected — your records, your providers, your trusted care team, now available after hours.

After Hours by Children’s Clinic is in-network with a variety of insurance plans. We accept walk-ins without an appointment during all posted hours. Please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your visit. If you have questions about your coverage, call us at 678-477-6904.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between pediatric urgent care and the emergency room?

Pediatric urgent care like After Hours by Children’s Clinic is designed for illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening — things like ear infections, strep throat, fevers, pink eye, and minor injuries.

The emergency room is for true emergencies: difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe allergic reactions, loss of consciousness, uncontrolled bleeding, or any life-threatening situation.

Urgent care is typically faster, significantly less expensive, and staffed by providers trained specifically in pediatrics. When in doubt, call us at 678-477-6904 and we’ll help you decide.

What age children do you see?

We see patients from infancy through age 18. We do not treat adults. Our entire team is trained and experienced in treating children at all developmental stages.

What happens after my child is seen at After Hours? Does my regular doctor find out?

Yes — this is one of the things that makes us different. After every visit, we send a summary of the care your child received to their primary pediatrician. Your regular provider will be informed of the diagnosis, any tests run, and what treatment was given, so they can follow up with any additional care needed. You don’t have to do anything — we handle the communication.

Can I bring my child here for a well-child visit or sports physical?

After Hours by Children’s Clinic specializes in urgent, after-hours care. For well-child visits, annual physicals, and sports physicals, please contact Children’s Clinic in Newnan at 770-253-0170 to schedule an appointment. We want to make sure you receive the right level of care in the right setting.

Is After Hours by Children's Clinic the same as Children's Clinic in Newnan?

They’re connected. After Hours by Children’s Clinic is a separate location — at 115 Sumner Rd in Fayetteville — that extends the care of Children’s Clinic into evenings and weekends.

If you’re already a patient at Children’s Clinic in Newnan, your after-hours care is fully coordinated with your regular providers.

Does my child need an appointment to be seen after hours?

No appointment is needed. After Hours by Children’s Clinic is a walk-in clinic. Simply come in during our posted hours and we will see your child as quickly as possible. Our hours are Monday–Friday 6:00–8:30 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, and Sunday 1:00–5:00 PM.

My baby has a fever. Should I go to urgent care or the ER?

This depends on your baby’s age. Any fever in a baby younger than 2 months old should be treated as a medical emergency — go to the ER or call 911 immediately.

For infants 2 months and older, an urgent care visit is generally appropriate for fevers that are not accompanied by severe symptoms. If you’re ever unsure, call 678-477-6904 and we’ll guide you.

Do you accept my insurance at After Hours?

We are in-network with a variety of insurance plans. Call us at 678-477-6904 to confirm your specific insurance plan is accepted before your visit. We are committed to making pediatric care accessible for all families.

What should I bring to the after-hours clinic?

Please bring your child’s insurance card, a photo ID, and any relevant medical history or a list of current medications your child is taking. If your child has a known allergy or a chronic condition, let the front desk staff know when you arrive.
